Family Tree Connections
As a way to trace back to their ancestors, Diana, Mari, and Jennie have acquired or helped create family trees to paint a clearer picture of how their Armenian families have grown over time.
Tracing family roots over the course of generations can help form deep connections and provide a sense of self by learning about the past. Being able to learn where they came from, who they were, the challenges they had to face, and what they accomplished during their lifetimes can all provide a sense of belonging that many Armenians have trouble finding as a result of the Armenian genocide. This provides a way for future children and grandchildren to learn about these ancestors in the future as well, helping them to understand their origins on a greater scale.
